Award For Humaneness In Medicine

The Lehigh County Medical Society announces that it is accepting nominations for the Humaneness in Medicine Award!

The objective of this award is to recognize and affirm the importance of humanistic qualities among residents and fellows across all specialties in Lehigh County. By fostering a caring and compassionate educational environment, the award encourages physicians-in-training to embrace these values as essential to meaningful, respectful, and effective physician-patient relationships.

This award is presented to the resident or fellow who best demonstrates the Lehigh County Medical Society’s ideals of outstanding compassion in the delivery of care, respect for patients, their families, and healthcare colleagues, and clinical excellence.

Nomination Procedure

A complete nomination packet must include the following:

Nomination form
Nominee’s Curriculum Vitae
At least one letter of support from a medical student, Director of Residency Training, physician colleague, nurse, or allied health care professional

The letter of support must include a minimum of one example of a particular case; additional examples are preferred. The Lehigh County Medical Society (LCMS) may request additional information. All nominations must be received by the LCMS office no later than March 1 for the previous year’s award.

Residents and Fellows interested in becoming members may join the Lehigh County Medical Society at no cost. Although PAMED charges a membership fee, the Lehigh County Medical Society has an agreement with PAMED to cover that cost for those who join through Lehigh County. The Society values resident engagement and is committed to removing dues as a barrier to participation.
